Velvet Meadows Quick and Easy Card

Today’s card is the quick and easy basic card using the sheet of Designer Series Paper that I like to call the “border sheet.” This sheet can easily be cut into six 4″ x 5 1/4″ pieces to mount on basic card bases for a very quick card. The background is so light on this particular DSP that you can stamp directly on it or use punches or dies to quickly make a sentiment piece to mount on the card. The card above features the Sweet Words & Labels die set.

Though June’s class is full, check out the class calendar for the July and August classes, as well as the bonus card kits.

Class Description:

We will be making six cards in this class.

This class features the new Sunset Coast Specialty Designer Series Paper. There are six double-sided designs in this pack, and each card we make will showcase a different pattern.

We will create:

  • 2 Dutch Door Cards
  • 2 Double Card Base Cards featuring the sailboat
  • 2 Pop-Up Lighthouse Cards

Please Note: This is specialty Designer Series Paper because it has a beautiful iridescent sheen on the waves, giving the cards a truly stunning finish.

Waterside Retreat Pocket Card

This fun fold card hides a surprise! When you open the card, the front panel swings inward, creating a fun twist to what first appears to be a simple design.

Warning: The life vests on this card are fussy cut — but they really aren’t too fussy!

The net die cut from the Sunset Coast Dies is a perfect addition, adding just the right extra touch to the Waterside Retreat Designer Series Paper cards that have been featured over the last several weeks.

Card Kit Sale

If you are signed up for my weekly newsletter, watch for an email coming out on Tuesday with a document listing all of the current card kits I have available for sale. Some of the kits I have had for a while are even discounted!

All kits will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis.

Please remember that stamped images are never included in the card kits.

  • Far Left: A Z-Fold card featuring a pop-up sentiment in the center.
  • Second Card: A floating flower card on a pop-out tower.
  • Third Card: A more basic design. Please note that the Designer Series Paper will vary depending on which section of the paper you receive.
  • Far Right: A Triple Z-Fold card.

All of these cards feature the new Velvet Meadows Designer Series Paper, giving each design a beautiful velvety texture.

The large pink die cut is created from a full sheet of the velvet cardstock and embossed using the new embossing die.

*All Kits Include:

  • Cardstock (cut, punched, embossed, scored, or die-cut)
  • Designer Series Paper (cut, punched, embossed, scored, or die-cut)
  • Embellishments shown in the picture (e.g., rhinestones, ribbon, etc.)

Waterside Retreat Inside Box Card

This week’s card is a fun pocket design featuring the Waterside Retreat Designer Series Paper along with the new chair die from the Waterside Retreat Dies.

One of the most exciting features of this die set is that you can create two different chair styles simply by changing the die used for the back of the chair. The Misty Moonlight card showcases a chair that resembles an Adirondack style, while the Old Olive version creates the look of a classic Mission-style chair.
