Welcome!
I am excited to be your hostess for Sandy Cove’s February 2025 Craft Around the Clock.
My crafting experience includes: Crochet, Scrapbooking, Sewing Costumes, Jewelry Making, Macrame, Quilting, Kid’s crafts and of course Card Making. I like to try new crafts and I hope to always have at least one workshop that isn’t paper crafting so we can try new crafts together.
Our devotional speaker and soloist for the weekend is Karen Rickards. Karen along with my daughter Abigail will be helping me in the classroom throughout the weekend. Abigail will also provide a piano prelude to our devotions and provide accompaniment to Karen’s songs that she will sing during devotion times.
Our theme is a Live * Love * Craft. During the Saturday night snack we will have a Hat Contest. If you feel so inclined, you may wear your favorite hat or wear a hat you have made from materials in your house (Great chance to get rid of all sorts of no longer wanted craft supplies, by gluing it to a hat.) There are no hard and fast rules. There will be three winners and the three hat categories are: Funniest Hat, Fanciest Hat, and Best Recycled Hat. Everyone is eligible to vote whether you wear a hat or not. This is a great opportunity to earn Door Prize
tickets.
Are You New to Craft Around the Clock: Please bring your crafting supplies for whatever projects you would like to work on in your personal crafting space. Examples of what some ladies work on at Craft Around the Clock: Quilting, Painting, Paper Scrapbooking, Mosaics, Diamond Dots, Knitting, Crochet, Cards, Digital Scrapbooking, Wreaths, Jewelry, etc…
While there are workshops offered and some crafting supplies available to purchase from me at Sandy Cove, you should bring your own crafting supplies or projects to work on. You will be inspired and might learn a new craft while at Craft Around the Clock. If you are coming alone please let me know your crafting interests so that I can seat you near others with the same interest.
My goal for you: To relax doing what you love!
While I would love for you to join me in the classroom, the workshops are optional. I do ask that if you know you want to participate in a workshop or make a specific card on the buffet, please email me your reservations. All workshops and kits will be on a first come first serve basis.
Below is a list of things I need to know to do my best to make your crafting experience great! Keep in mind the window rooms are highly requested and I will do my best to seat as many people in them as I can without overcrowding them.
My goals for figuring out seating in the craft rooms:
NOTE: These are goals and there are always extenuating circumstances that may prevent some of these goals from being met. Thank you for your patience and understanding. I do my very best to meet your requests.
Bay Rooms – I fill the bay conference rooms with 8ft tables for crafting. Each table will be shared by two people so that each person has a 4ft crafting space. If your group has exactly 4 people then I will sit you at two 8ft tables facing each other. For larger or smaller groups, at least one member of your group will be sharing an 8ft table with a member from another group, but you will still be next to your group. The two bay rooms are Ritter (room for 32 crafters) and Pritchett
(room for 18 crafters).
Non-Bay Rooms – There are four conference rooms across the hall from the bay window conference rooms. One of these rooms is the classroom, Hatfield, and the other three rooms are for Crafters: Supplee, Guistwite, and Milburn. I can comfortably fit 16 six ft tables in these rooms as long as I have enough 6 ft tables available to me. What this means is that those who craft in the non-bay rooms typically get a 6ft table to themselves. This is great for those who like to bring their sewing machine or those who just like a little extra space.
I need to know:
~ The names of people in your group that you want to share crafting space with
if you are a group of two, please let me know if you want to sit beside each other or across from
each other.
~ The names of other groups you would like to be in the same crafting room with if possible special needs (like location to outlets, windows, shared cutting table for crafters who sew, snack table etc.). NOTE: you will still need to bring extension cords because outlets are not plentiful.
~ If you wish to reserve a workshop. You can pre earn a door prize ticket for each class you make reservations.
Please email your above requests and information request by clicking on the email link which is a contact form and just helps protect me from SPAM.

Card Buffet
Fee: $2.50 per card
Preordering cards is helpful for me to prepare enough materials. If you know which cards you would like to make, please send me an email with the the letter and quantity of the cards you would like to make. For example: A 1, C 2, & D 1 (This means you want to make 1 of card A, 2 of card C and 1 of card D. I will have them waiting for you in the classroom. You will also earn extra door prize tickets if you preorder kits.) I have limited card kits available.
Everything you need to make one of the above pictured cards will be in a shoebox in the classroom. Tracie will be available to help you if you need it or if you are an experienced card maker you can make the card at your leisure. All materials are pre cut and ready to stamp and assemble. Sometimes other sentiments are available if you don’t like the sentiment used in the sample. Just ask Tracie or one of her helpers.
NOTE: Cards A, B, & C use stamps that come from the One More Year Stamp Set and the materials for these three cards will be in the same shoebox. Why does this matter? …. It matters because you may like the stamp on Card B but want to use the Card C design. So all I need to know is which card kit you want… A B or C and when you come to make your card you can use the dog stamp, the cheese plate stamp, or the cake stamp on it. You don’t even need to tell me which stamp you are going use. You get to change it up however you like. This only applies to card A, B, & C
(Hatfield is closed during workshops/devotions/meals/& game time)

Paper Pumpkin Kit Buffet Card Sets
Fee: $4.50 to $6.00 per card set
Each of the sets below are from Stampin’ Up’s Monthly Subscription service. I use them in this setting to let you experience how the kits work and to see what comes in your box if you should choose to buy a subscription. The price for each kit is below each picture. Kits are on a first reserve first come basis. Most sets are $6 each but sets BB & GG are $4.50 per kit. Feel free to email me which card sets you would like to place on hold.

Wreath Class – Max 12 people
Some have asked for another wreath class. Last time we learned how to make a wreath using the bubble method. This time we will be using the Nadia method to make, what she calls a No Fray Deco Mesh wreath. Nadia has many videos using this method and I have listed a link to one below. All materials can be purchased at the Dollar Tree if your store is well stocked. All the materials for my wreath pictured above was purchased from the Dollar Tree, but I bought 2 of each color
When: Saturday Morning @ 10:15 AM
Fee: Free (BRING your own materials)
Materials Needed for a basic Wreath:
1 – 14 in Round metal wreath form @dollartree (Note you can actually choose a square, egg shaped, cross shaped or whatever shape you like but it may require more or less deco mesh to complete)
1 – Pack Chenille Stems (DT) (NOTE: Cut each stem into 3rds so that you have 75 – 4″ wires. Be sure to use wire cutters or a pair of scissors you don’t mind cutting wire with)
5 – Deco Mesh Rolls in colors of your choice – 6 in x 5 yds (DT) (Any 6″ deco mesh will do but you will need approximately 25 yards total. You might want 6 rolls of Dollar Tree Mesh if you are using 3 different colors like I did.)
Cutting Mat and Rotary Cutter (Some dollar trees have both of these items)
or Scissors
Decorations of your choice for your wreath… see below.
Materials needed if you want to decorate the wreath with a bow and or silk flowers. You can keep it as simple or make it as complicated as you wish.
1 – Blue Wired Ribbon 2.5 in x 3 yds (DT)
1 – Yellow Wired Ribbon 2.5 in x 10 yds @CraftOutletCom
1 – Pink Daisy Bushel (DT)
2 – Daffodil Bushels (DT)
1 – Wired Ribbon 2.5 in x 3 yds (DT)
1 – Coordinating Color Wired Ribbon 2.5 in x 10 yds
1 – zip tie for holding the bow together
Full length chenille stems for attaching bow and flowers to the wreath.
1 to 3 – Bushels of Silk Flowers (DT)
I will have a wooden bow holder similar to the one she uses in the video to help you make your bow.
NOTE: I decorated my wreath with a wooden anchor that I bought a the Dollar Tree at the same time that I bought the deco mesh.

How to Make a Date Night With A Book
In this class I will demonstrate how I wrapped the book pictured above so that it had pockets to hold treats. I will give a brief lecture on how to research and fill out the label for the Date Night with a Book Label. I will then lead a brief discussion on the different items that would be cute to put in the pockets. Please let me know when you sign up if you just want to come for the free demonstration or if you are planning to bring a book to wrap (Fee is $2.50 for wrapping your book*).
If you want to wrap the book that you bring: *I will provide you with: Brown Wrapping Paper, Photocopy of a sheet of Author Quotes & a sheet of 4 Book Labels (not sticky backed), 1 yard of Cording (multiple colors available), Extra Large Paper Clip, and Materials to make one book mark. Materials you must bring: A Book
I will not provide tea bags or stickers to go in the pockets but you can add those items later.
When: Friday Night @ 7 PM
Fee: Demonstration is Free (To wrap a book you bring to class: $2.50*)

Under the Sea Card Class
In this class we will make one of each card. The fancy fold card has three layers that creates a diorama effect when standing up for display. Everything will be precut and ready to assemble (except the angle cut which I will demonstrate). The lobster and the crab are both cut from designers series paper so the only stamping you will do for this card is the sentiment. I will have a large Happy Birthday stamp to use instead of Hello, Friend on the lobster card if you wish. Some card kits will have a red lobster and an orange crab and other kits will have an orange lobster and a red crab. I will have a lobster and crab stamp for you to use if your prefer stamping them to using the DSP one provided.
When: Saturday Evening @ 6:15 PM
Fee: $6.50

Mosaic Moments/Stampin’ Up Scrapbooking Class
Max: 6 People
Description: Above is the basic Double Page layout we will be making using new Scrapbooking paper from Stampin’ Up combined with the Mosaic Moment’s Bridge Die Set. All the blue and grey sections and even some of the plaid sections can be used for photos. I would bring a minimum of 16 – 20 photos. Notice that the center of each would be the focal picture. The floral decorations are optional. These are made using a new Scrapbooking Stamp Set from Stampin’ Up (Everyday You & Me).
Photo Suggestions for left hand page: When choosing photos for the noon, 3, 6, & 9 o’clock positions of the page, landscape shots, floral photos, or photos of architectural features work well in these spots. The corner spots are good for photos of people especially if the person is small and the background is not interesting. The center picture should be a 4″x4″ focal pix.
Photo Suggestions for right hand page: If you leave off the florals you can use 9 photos on this page or you could just use five photos in the grey areas and the blue circle area.
Bring plenty of photos of the event you want to scrapbbok, even the bad pictures, you never know if these extra pictures could come in handy while scrapbooking with Mosaic Moment dies.
When: Saturday Afternoon @ 2 PM
Fee: $12.00

Door Prizes (Sneak Peek)
I will have lots of door prizes to win including the three crocheted items pictured above. These items will each be a prize in the Made by Tracie section of the Door Prize Table.
I will be doing the drawing a little different this time. To save your crafting time, you will need to have all your door prize tickets entered by 10 AM Sunday Morning (directly after devotions). At this time my helpers and I will take them into the classroom and draw the winning names and write them down in the order they were drawn (I will have a roll so we don’t miss or repeat any names like I did last time). At 11:00 AM on Sunday I will make the announcements of the winners. If you are not there or do not arrange for a friend to pick up your door prize, it will go to the next person on the list. If you or your whole group has to leave before the drawing, please see Tracie or a helper before leaving to receive a consolation prize. (NOTE: In November we did run into a couple of issues that I think we have resolved for future drawings.)
I am hoping the new system will allow for more crafting time!
