Simply Elegant Card

June 18, 2021 by Tracie

This weeks featured card is made using the Simply Elegant Specialty Designer Series paper and the Elegantly Said stamp set by Stampin’ Up. Because Specialty paper is a little more expensive than our normal DSP, the card I feature in the free pdf file download only uses a 3″ square of it. This paired with some silver embossing powder for the background made a stunning card.

Don’t forget to download the free PDF file which contains all the measurements and materials needed to make this card.

I did make a change to the pdf file this week. I decided to change the margins so that instead of cutting the paper in half and then punching holes to put it in a half size binder, I made it so that it can simply be folded in half and then punch holes on the non folded side. I have also put the sample card on the left side so that it can be seen first as you flip through your binder instead of the card sketch. I hope this change works for you.

My Cards using May’s Paper Pumpkin Kit

I usually make the monthly Paper Pumpkin kit exactly as designed but this month I looked at a few other designs on Pinterest and then created my own version of the cards. I made three each of the cards in the picture above and even stamped the envelopes. Everything is pretty self explanatory by looking at the picture, but I did cut one piece. The red die cut piece with yellow stripes, was cut so that I had a 2 3/8″ square piece for the blue striped card and what was left of the die cut went on the Crumb Cake card in the middle of the picture.  I also added Soft Suede Ink for some of the stamping.
