This week’s card is a Faux Step card. While traditional step cards can be a bit complicated to cut, this quick and simple version makes it oh so much easier. It features another beautiful piece of Nature Walk Designer Series Paper and is paired with die cuts from the Fragrant Layers Die Set. March Zoom Card Class

Class Fee: $28 plus Postage if necessary (calculated when ready to ship)

Class Description: We will be making two of each card design shown in the picture above.

  • Top left card: A 3-section puzzle slider card

  • Top right card: A simple card (the kit will include one Petal Pink card base as pictured and one Calypso Coral card base)

  • Bottom left card: A 4-section puzzle slider card

  • Bottom right card: The fancy fold card for the class, called a Hidden Door Card

NOTE About Card Kits for Classes: Everything in your card kit is pre-cut and ready to assemble unless otherwise noted. Card kits do not include stamped images, glue, or Stampin’ Dimensionals. Each kit does include the cardstock, die cuts, Designer Series Paper, ribbon, and any other embellishments shown in the class advertisement. Instructions for the card kits are available on my blog, so even if you miss class, you’ll still be able to assemble your cards.

Skinny Front Flap Card

Not a clever name, but I like the title to be descriptive and that is the best I could come up with. I did see this design on Pinterest but forgot to write down the original card maker.  I designed my own version using the Symbols of Fortune DSP and it was part of my April zoom class. While I love the gold embossed side of the paper, the pretty flowers and colors on the other side of this DSP won out. Take note, the elegant tag punch is being discontinued along with many other products so don’t forget to shop now. You can find a full list of materials and measurements in my free pdf file.

Catalogs have to be ordered by March 31 for me to have them mailed directly to you, so they aren’t included in the Debut class supplies, but you will find some card kits, a door prize, and a coupon for $5 off your next zoom class. The purpose of this class is to show you the new products and fun projects you can make with them.

You can come and watch or you can gather your materials and create along with me. You will need Basic White or Very Vanilla Cardstock, Ink, Sponge Dauber or Blending Brush, and your favorite stamp set. You can precut your cardstock to 3 3/4″ x 5″ or you can have your paper trimmer handy to cut it during class.

RSVP and pay by May 21, 2022

We will make 8 cards in this class and the materials kit is $22 plus $4 shipping and handling. We will be making 2 of each card. All paper will be cut and scored ready for you to assemble during class. No stamped images will be provided, but the Designer Series Paper adds all the color to these cards so you will simply need some sentiments to finish them off. I instruct how to assemble the cards during the zoom class and you will need to provide your own glue.

Tulip Gift Card Holder

Today’s card is part of my March 25 zoom class. I saw a card on the internet using the tulip border in the same way but my change was to make the piece behind the tulips a pocket for a gift card. It is a small pocket but it is big enough to hold a gift card, check, or cash long enough for the recipient to take it out of the envelope without it falling out of the card. It is also small enough that if you don’t want to put anything in the pocket, no one will notice. You can even glue it completely shut or cut off the excess piece. Don’t forget to check out my event’s calendar for the latest classes. I have some local classes as well as some free demonstration classes and of course my monthly zoom card class.

Below is the inside of the card. The side panel can be a pocket for a gift card or you can glue it completely down.

News from Stampin’ Up

Starting 1 April 2022, standard shipping and handling rates will permanently increase in all markets. As expedited shipping option rates are calculated in addition to standard shipping and handling pricing, these options will also see a cost increase (please see the Q&A section below for more information).

The new pricing structure will increase shipping charges as follows:

  • In the United States, standard shipping and handling charges will change from $6.95 USD or 10% (whichever is greater) to $7.95 USD or 11% (whichever is greater)—including territories and APO/FPO.

RSVP by April 1 , 2022 to order a card kit

Card Kit: $22 plus($4 S&H)

We will make a total of 8 cards. Two butterfly balcony cards which are pictured in the center, 3 Symbols of Fortune Cards which are pictured on the right  and 3 Sweet Symmetry Designer Series Paper cards which are pictured on the left. The Symbols of Fortune cards, open a bit differently. The long Skinny piece at the bottom flips open to the left and the center DSP flips up. Your two butterfly cards will look exactly the same but as you can see from the picture, the other 6 cards will be a mix of all 6 designs from the DSP packs.

I have held several classes here for members of the VFW post but if you are local and would like to come, they welcome outside guests. We will be making 9 cards, 3 each of the 3 designs in the picture above. The tulip card is a double easel card and will be in three different colors. The sentiments can also be changed so that you can have Birthday or Thinking of You cards  if you don’t need Mother’s Day and Father’s Day cards.
